Benton County Fair Heats Up with Glass Art Show [VIDEO]

SAUK RAPIDS -- Things are heating up at the Benton County Fair with this year's glass art show.

Put on by Foci Minnesota Center for Glass Art the show features a detailed demonstration of glass blowing and other glass art techniques.

Studio manager Eric Dahlberg says Foci travels throughout the state to put on shows.

"This is our second one this summer, we've got one more with the state fair coming up. Our mobile hot shop travels the state and our year round location is in Minneapolis."

Besides watching and learning about glass art you can buy some of the creations.

"The demonstrations that we make have to go through a cooling cycle, so things made today (Tuesday) won't be out until tomorrow (Wednesday) there's basicly a 24 hour cool down."

Paper weight, bowls, vases and glasses are just some of the creations you can buy. If you want to check out a demonstration, they run from 1:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m. and are located in Heritage Square.
