SAUK RAPIDS -- Work continues on Benton County's "3 Up the Hill" project in Sauk Rapids.

County Engineer Chris Byrd says despite heavy rains this summer, the project is on track to be completed in late October or early November.

However, Byrd says they recognize school is starting and there will be more traffic in and around the work site. Byrd says you should visit the county's website or facebook page for detour information and plan your route in advance.

The project is on 2nd Street North in Sauk Rapids and runs from 3rd Avenue North up to Highway 10.

The existing two-lane road is being replaced with a four-lane roadway and center median. There will be roundabouts at Summit Avenue and 6th Avenue North. The intersection of Stearns Drive and 2nd Street North will be controlled by a traffic light.
