Bennie Babler, age 95, of Foley, died Thursday, June 26, 2014 at the Foley Nursing Center.

Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Monday, July 7, 2014 at St. Michael's Catholic Church, St. Michael. The Rev. Nathan LaLiberte will officiate. Private burial will be in the Crystal Lake Cemetery.

Friends may call from 10 to 11 a.m. Monday at St. Michael's Church. Arrangements were made by the Foley Funeral Home.

Bennie Babler was born October 10, 1918 in Rogers, Minnesota to Jesse and Elizabeth (Dahlheimer) Babler. Bennie lived much of his life in Minneapolis, Minnesota and worked as a meat cutter for most of his life. He was a US Army Veteran of WWII. He enjoyed gardening flowers and raspberries and especially liked fishing at Mille Lacs Lake where he built a cabin near Malmo. He was a member of the Robbinsdale/Crystal Legion, Post 0251, the Meat Cutters Union, Local 635, Life Member of Ascension Catholic Church in Minneapolis and a member of St. Michael's Catholic Church.

He is survived by his sisters and brother; Esther Noske, Richmond; Rita Kelly, Harlingen, TX and Christopher H. Babler, Georgetown, TX and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and many brothers and sisters.
