Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30 AM on Saturday, November 8, at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Waite Park for Benedict L.”Ben” Dullinger, 94 of Waite Park who passed away on Wednesday, November 5, 2014 at Quiet Oaks Hospice. Reverend Mark Innocenti will officiate. Burial will take place at the parish cemetery.

Family and friends may call from 4:00 - 8:00 PM on Friday (TODAY) at the Daniel Funeral Home, St. Cloud. There will be no visitation on Saturday. Parish prayers will be at 4:45 PM on Friday at the funeral home in St. Cloud.

Ben was born on April 19, 1920, on a farm in Collegeville Township to Frank and Mary (Pueringer) Dullinger. He attended school near his home through the 8th grade and then helped on the family farm. After turning 18, Ben worked for the Civilian Conservation Corps for two years. Ben served in the US Army beginning in 1942. He was a supervisor at Char-Gale where he met his wife Kathyrn. He married Kathryn Mergen at St. Catherine’s Catholic Church in Farming in 1947. Ben worked for Franklin Manufacturing and Frigidaire, retiring in 1984.

Ben is survived by: children, JoAnn (Jerry) Lorenzini , David (Roxanne), Michael , Lois (Jim) Gebhardt , and Dennis (Lori); 15 grandchildren; ten great grandchildren; sister Alice McCaslin; other family members: Loretta Dullinger , Marilyn Mergen, Elsie Mergen, Irene Mergen, Alma Mergen, Mike Mergen, Jimmy (Darlene) Mergen.

He was preceded in death by: wife Kathyrn; son Gary; sisters Laura Stommes, Anna Dullinger; brothers, Ed, Frank, Matt, Claude and Emil.
Ben will be greatly missed by his family and friends. His legacy includes the many thousands of trees he grew and planted throughout his life.
