Behind the Scenes: Orders Up at Goodfella’s Bar and Grill [VIDEO]
RONNEBY — Deciding what to order at a restaurant can be a challenge.
In the town of Ronneby one restaurant doesn’t make that decision easy. Goodfella’s Bar and Grill has over 30 variety of burgers alone to choose from.
Jason Janssen has been working in the food industry for 23 years, and has ran Goodfella’s for the past eight years. He says the job is very hands on.
“Typically I come in every morning around 7:00 a.m. and I do all the cleaning, and the food and liquor orders myself,” says Janssen.
After you choose your order the server types it into the computer and hands the ticket to the kitchen.
The cooks then look at what ingredients are needed and begin making the order. A majority, Janssen says, is hand made.
“We basically do most everything from scratch,” says Janssen.
Their burgers, soups, salads and sauces are things they make themselves. Janssen says when making items from scratch being organized is important, especially in the coolers.
“I know exactly where everything is in the cooler,” says Janssen. “They can call me at home saying they can’t find something, I can tell them it’s on this shelf on this side.”
Before your food is delivered it’s put on a hot plate for one final inspection to make sure it’s done just they way you wanted it.
Janssen say no two days are the same in this business and its the people he meets that makes the job fun.
