Becker Man Arrested After Early Morning Assault

BECKER -- The Becker Police Department reports that a man was arrested this (Sunday) morning after allegedly assaulting a woman.

Police say that they received a call shortly after 3:00 a.m. reporting the assault and choking of a woman in the 12000 block of Stevens Avenue in Becker.

Authorities say that 27-year-old Christopher Marc Woods of Becker would not cooperate with the police and would not come out of his residence.

Police say that after several hours of negotiating, Woods finally came out and was taken into custody.

Woods was taken to Sherburne County Jail and faces charges of Felony Domestic Assault-Strangulation and Obstruction of Legal Process.

Becker police say that no one was harmed in the incident and the female involved in the assault did not need medical attention.
