ST. CLOUD -- Phase 3 of the Beaver Island Trail project goes before the Park and Recreation Board tonight (Tuesday).

The project is again moving forward after the St. Cloud City Council rejected an earlier plan to route the trail behind the River's Edge Condominium. Park and Rec. Director Scott Zlotnik says the council adopted the alignment outlined in option 2 which tracks between the condominium and Majestic View apartments.

Zlotnik says now they are taking some design features to the park board for feedback but are not asking for approval just yet.

Phase 3 of the Beaver Island Trail will extend the trail from the River's Edge Convention Center to the north, ending near the boat landing by Cathedral High School.

Zlotnik says they hope to get the project approved in time to start the construction by this fall.
