The top-seeded Blake Bears topped the Sartell-St. Stephen Sabres 3-0 Thursday night in the opening game of the 2013 state tourney.

The Bears got a goal early in the first half from senior forward Lydia Sutton, her team-high 12th of the season, for a 1-0 lead. They bookended the goal with another late in the half from sophomore Maggie Warner, her second of the season.

The Blake School notched their third and final goal when Annie Lyman found Maddy Moe in front of the net for Moe’s seventh goal of the year midway through the second half.

The Sabres finish the season at 10-5-2 and graduate seniors Sophie VanSurksum, Katie Stuttgen, Lauren Williams, Kelsey Frank, Grace Kuhl and Caitlin Halupczok.
