Weflen, age 90 of Sauk Rapids who passed away at Good Shepherd Lutheran Home in Sauk Rapids on Friday. Friends and relatives may call from 5:00 – 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, September 13, 2016 at Williams Dingmann Family Funeral Home in Sauk Rapids and also one hour prior to services at the church in St. Cloud on Wednesday.

Barbara was born on April 29, 1926 in Burtrum, MN to William “Frank” and Argenettie (Sanders) Wildman. On September 4, 1946 she was married to Archie Weflen. Barbara worked most of her life as a homemaker, raising three children and caring for her family and for a few years as a nurse’s aide at the Good Shepherd Lutheran Home. She enjoyed sewing, quilting, crafts and was very creative. Barbara had a great sense of humor and was full of joy and laughter. She was a hard worker and loved gardening and canning. She preferred to grow vegetables over flowers, because “If you can’t eat it, why grow it?” Barbara was also a great cook and always had a home cooked meal ready. However, salt and pepper were all that was necessary for seasoning; anything else would be too exotic.

Survivors include her son and daughters, Arvid of Fairbanks, AK, Judy (Tom) Stahnke of Farmington and Diane (Hank) Lucas-Smith of Osage, IA; grandchildren, Justin (Amy), Jenny (Mike), Jena, Erik, Warren (Annie), Angie (Tanner) and Kyle; and 12 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Archie in 2012; daughter-in-law, Karin; brothers, Adrian, Douglas and Alfred Wildman; and sister, June Rosten.
