Funeral Services will be 12:00 p.m. Saturday, April 9, 2016 at South Santiago Lutheran Church, Clear Lake for Barbara “Barb” Lee Kydd, age 86, who passed away Wednesday at her home. Rev. Michael Pancoast will officiate and burial will be at Ft. Snelling National Cemetery in Minneapolis. Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. Friday, April 8, 2016 at Williams Dingmann Family Funeral Home in Becker and one hour prior to the services at the church.

Barbara was born July 17, 1929 in Minneapolis to Emil & Florence (Blye) Krocak. She proudly graduated from the University of Minnesota in the class of 1952 with her teaching degree. While attending college Barb was involved in Kappa Phi Sorority and Study Club. Barb married the love of her life, George Kydd on June 20, 1953 at Barb’s family home. Barb worked as a school teacher at various schools in the Minneapolis Public School System, retiring in 1990. Following her retirement, the couple moved to their lake home on Briggs Lake. Barb was a member of South Santiago Lutheran Church, Women of ELCA, Briggs Lake Chain Association, League of Women Voters and P.P. Study Club. She also volunteered for the American Cancer Society’s garage sale, taught Sunday School, and was a Sea Scout Leader; Barb was passionate about being involved. She was elegant, compassionate, caring, supportive, and often enjoyed boasting about her family. She will be dearly missed by all who knew her.

Survivors include her husband, George of Clear Lake; children, Jakki Lee Kydd-Fidelman (David) of Minneapolis and Michael George (Gloria Ann) Kydd of Becker; brother, David Blye (Debra) Krocak of Elk River; seven grandchildren, Nathan, Gabrielle, Darya, Davida, Jacob, Daniel, Mikayla; and 1 great granddaughter, Ruby. Barb was preceded in death by her parents.
