Bag Causes Ticketing Area Shutdown at Twin Cities Airport

MINNEAPOLIS (AP) - Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport has resumed normal operations after an unattended bag caused the airport to shut down part of its ticketing area for about two hours.

Reports say the backpack was left unattended on a United Airlines scale. The bag was spotted by Transportation Security Administration agents shortly after noon Saturday.

An airport spokeswoman says the outside of the bag was swabbed and tested positive for an explosive.

Airport police asked for help from the Bloomington bomb squad. But officials say no explosives were found.

Part of the ticketing area in Terminal 1 was evacuated. The scene was cleared at about 2:30 p.m. and the airport resumed normal operations.
