The Colorado Avalanche topped the Minnesota Wild 2-1 in overtime Monday night in Denver. The Wild fall to 14-7-5 with the loss.

Tyson Barrie scored for the Avs in the second period to break a scoreless tie on a nice tic-tac-toe passing play to beat Wild goaltender Darcy Kuemper.

Zach Parise tied the game for the Wild with just over six minutes left in the third period to send the contest to overtime. John Mitchell's goal in the extra period for Colorado ended the game.

The Wild will play at Arizona on Friday night.
