ROCHESTER -- Authorities have recovered the body of a 20-year-old man after a canoe capsized at Silver Creek Reservoir in Rochester.

Authorities got a 911 call about 9:30 a.m. Saturday saying a canoe had overturned in the reservoir and that one occupant was missing. Preliminary reports were that two 20-year-old men were fishing from the canoe when it capsized. The men tried to swim to shore, but only one made it back.

Capt. Scott Behrns of the Olmsted County sheriff's office says the missing man's body was recovered about three hours later in about 12 feet of water.

The victim was a resident of Stewartville who was originally from Rochester. His name will be released Monday once family and friends are notified.
