Authorities Arrest Owner of Suspicious Vehicle

PIERZ -- Morrison County authorities have arrested a Glencoe man who was wanted on a felony warrant for child neglect.

The case unfolded after an abandoned car was found in a swampy area of Mayhew Lake Township in Benton County.

The car was registered to 26-year-old Nicholas Kopf. Kopf was wanted on a warrant out of McLeod County and authorities say he had developed anti-law enforcement and anti-government beliefs.

A citizen in Pierz recognized a person matching Kopf's description Tuesday evening. Morrison County authorities responded to the scene on Highway 25 and arrested Kopf without incident.

He's being held in the Morrison County Jail.
