Jim Maurice

News Director: I’m a lifelong resident of this great state of Minnesota. I grew-up in the small West Central Community of Maynard.  After graduating from the Brown Institute of Radio Broadcasting, I began my professional career working nights at KDMA radio in Montevideo back in 1988.  In 1995, I moved to Redwood Falls and worked as the sports director for KLGR radio.  I eventually became their morning show co-host and program director. I’ve been working here at WJON in St. Cloud since 2005, and have been the news director since 2007.  The main beats that I cover include: politics, education, and local government. People often ask me, “What’s the best part of my job?”  The answer is that I get to meet a lot of great people, see a lot of cool places, and I never know from one day to the next what my day is going to bring. When I’m not tracking down the latest news story, you can most likely find me doing anything outdoors, whether it’s camping or boating in the summer, or snowmobiling in the winter.

Minnesota State Fair Hosting Job Fair

If you've always had a dream of working at the Minnesota State Fair, here's your chance. The State Fair, along with several of its vendors, will host the first-ever job fair on Wednesday. It will run from 4:00 until 8:00 p.m. at the Progress Center on the fairgrounds. More than 600 fair-time positions will be available.

Sauk Rapids Teen Hurt In Electrocution, Fall From Bridge

A teenager from Sauk Rapids is hospitalized after being electrocuted and falling from a bridge. The Sartell Police Department says they were called to the old Sartell bridge over the Mississippi River on Sartell Street at about 9:20 p.m. last (Wednesday) night.
