Jim Maurice

I’m a lifelong resident of this great state of Minnesota. I grew-up in the small West Central Community of Maynard.  After graduating from the Brown Institute of Radio Broadcasting, I began my professional career working nights at KDMA radio in Montevideo back in 1988.  In 1995, I moved to Redwood Falls and worked as the sports director for KLGR radio.  I eventually became their morning show co-host and program director. I’ve been working here at WJON in St. Cloud since 2005, and have been the news director since 2007.  The main beats that I cover include: politics, education, and local government. People often ask me, “What’s the best part of my job?”  The answer is that I get to meet a lot of great people, see a lot of cool places, and I never know from one day to the next what my day is going to bring. When I’m not tracking down the latest news story, you can most likely find me doing anything outdoors, whether it’s camping or boating in the summer, or snowmobiling in the winter.

UPDATE: Body Found in Moorhead likely NDSU Student from Sartell

Fargo police say the body of what they believe is a North Dakota State University student, missing since Saturday morning, has been found. Fargo Police Chief Keith Ternes says a body matching the description and clothing of Tom Bearson was found around 11:20 this morning during a search in South Moorhead.

No New Clues After Day Of Searching For Missing Sartell Native Tom Bearson

Fargo police, several police dogs, and firefighters spent all day yesterday (Monday) searching areas in-and-around the NDSU campus, as well as the Red River for a missing Sartell native. Eighteen-year-old Tommy Bearson was last seen leaving a party near campus early Saturday.

St. Cloud Council Approves Additional Street Lights, Tables Plan To Fund Them

The St. Cloud City Council has unanimously approved adding as many as 65 street lights to the alleys in the neighborhood near St. Cloud State University. The plan is to put two lights in each alley on already existing poles, in an effort to make the area safer for the students and residents who live there.
