Are you In Favor of Identification to Vote in Minnesota?
Congressman Tom Emmer says identification to vote is a big issue in our country and in the State of Minnesota. He says some form of identification should be presented to vote in Minnesota. Emmer says over 70% of Americans believe that some form of identification is appropriate to vote.
Emmer Feels There is a Crisis on the Southern Border
Sixth District Congressman Tom Emmer says "we have a crisis on the southern border." Emmer joined me on WJON today. He says this crisis began in January when Joe Biden took office as President of the United States. Emmer says the U.S. has lost control of the southern border and states that the vetting process isn't working.
Sauk Rapids Routs Tech; Week 3 Scores
Sauk Rapids-Rice improved to 2-0 with a 42-21 rout at home against Tech Friday night. The Storm led 22-0 after the 1st quarter and 36-0 at halftime. Tech drops to 0-3.
Plugged Ears? The Reason Could Be A Lot of Things
We have 3 levels to our ears; Inner, middle and external. Dr. Ted Truitt from St. Cloud ENT appeared on WJON's Health Matters program this week. An example of exterior ear issues include a build up of wax and swimmer's ear. Truitt says Q-tips are not recommended and can do more harm than good.

Week 3 of the high school football season will take place tonight throughout Central Minnesota. Rocori will play at Sartell-St. Stephen at 7 p.m. with coverage starting at 6:40 on AM 1390/93.9 FM Granite City Sports. Dave Overlund will call the action. Both teams are 1-1 entering tonight's action.
COVID-19 Numbers Not Better or Worse This Week at SC Hospital
St. Cloud Hospital COVID-19 numbers aren't better or worse this week compared to last week. CentraCare Spokesman Dr. George Morris joined me on WJON again this week. He says the COVID-19 Delta variant surge continues with numbers hospitalized in the mid 50s with 18 of those in the ICU/Critical Care Unit.
Bear Hunters Having Success in Minnesota
The bear hunting harvest was expected to be high this year. Glen Schmitt from Outdoor News joined me on WJON today. He says he is hearing that the hunting has been "phenomenal" for bears so far. Bear hunting starting September 1st and will continue through October 18th in Minnesota.
Fall Colors Starting Already in Northern Minnesota
It is only mid September but the changing of the leaves has already begun in extreme northern Minnesota. Alyssa Hayes from Explore Minnesota joined me on WJON today from International Falls, Minnesota. She says she is seeing many signs of fall there with the beginning of fall colors.
Where Your Fine Dollars Go in Stearns County
Have you ever wondered where that money goes when you pay a fine for a speeding ticket or parking violation? Stearns County Attorney Janelle Kendall joined me on WJON today. She says there is a difference between fines and forfeiture money. Money from fines go to the court system to pay for things like the law library which is a public access library.
Stearns County Working to Get Caught Up on Trials
The COVID-19 pandemic put a hold or pushed back numerous court trials in Stearns County. Stearns County Attorney Janelle Kendall joined me on WJON today. She says they held 25 jury trials during the pandemic restrictions but are now playing catch up with the trials that were pushed back.
