White Sox Edge Twins 3-2

The White Sox down the Twins 3-2 Wednesday afternoon at Target Field. Alejandro De Aza had a infield single in the 8th inning scoring the go-ahead run. Scott Diamond allowed 8 hits and 3 earned runs in 7 1/3 innings to take the loss and drop to 9-5. Ben Revere went 2-4 to extend his hitting streak to 15 games and Danny Valencia hit a solo homerun for Minnesota.

Rox, Tanielu Walk-off With Win Over Beetles

The St. Cloud Rox defeated Alexandria 5-4 on a walk-off RBI single from Nick Tanielu in the 9th inning to break the 4-all tie. Boo Vazquez went 4-5 with 2 runs scored, Tanielu went 4-5 with 1 RBI and Elvin Soto went 2-4 with 2 RBIs for the Rox. Zach Hirsch threw 7 innings with 7 hits and 1 earned run but didn't figure in the final decision. Adam Maxon allowed 3 earned runs in the 9th inning to blow the save but he got the win.

Vikings’ Carlson Has MCL Sprain

Viking tight end John Carlson has a Grade 2 MCL sprain in his knee will according to head coach Leslie Frazier will miss 1-2 weeks. Carlson is expected to see significant action at tight end this season along with 2nd year tight end Kyle Rudolph. Carlson is a Litchfield, Minnesota native who played his college football at Notre Dame and played professionally in Seattle before signing a free agent contract with the Vikings in the off-season.

White Sox, Pierzynski Edge Twins 4-3

The Twins lost 4-3 at home to the Chicago White Sox Tuesday night. A.J. Pierzynski hit a 2-run homerun off Jeff Gray in the 9th inning to break a 2-all tie. Denard Span went 4-5 with a RBI single in the 9th inning for the Twins. Danny Valencia was 1-4 with 1 RBI. Nick Blackburn allowed 5 hits and 2 earned runs in 8 innings for the Twins.

Alexandria Outscores Rox 12-9

The St. Cloud Rox lost 12-9 at Alexandria Tuesday night. St. Cloud scored 7 runs in the 4th inning to lead 8-5 but the Beetles rallied for 4 runs in the bottom of the 4th and added 3 more runs in the 5th inning. Erik Kozel hit a grand slam homerun and Carlos Lopez was 2-4 with 2 runs scored including a solo homerun for the Rox. James Jensen threw 3 1/3 innings with 8 hits and 7 earned runs allowed for St. Cloud.

Timberwolves To Introduce Stiemsma Thursday

The Timberwolves announced Tuesday that they will introduce newly signed free agent center Greg Stiemsma at a press conference Thursday at 1pm at Target Center. Stiemsma is 6'11 260 pounds and is 26 years old. He averaged 2.9 points and 3.2 rebounds a game with Boston in 2011-2012.

T-Wolves Introduce Brandon Roy

The Timberwolves introduced shooting guard Brandon Roy at a press conference today at Target Center. The 28-year old Roy is coming out of retirement after missing all of last season with chronic knee problems. He played 5 seasons in Portland and the 6'6 guard averaged 19 points a game.
