Rox Edge Waterloo 3-2 For 6th Straight Win

The St. Cloud Rox continue to roll after winning their 6th straight game 3-2 over Waterloo Tuesday night. Elvin Soto broke the 2-all tie with a RBI single in the 7th inning. Soto was 2-3 with 2 RBIs for the Rox. Phil Imholte was 2-3 when 2-3 with 1 RBI and Tadd Johansen threw a complete game with 5 hits and 2 runs (1 earned run) with 7 strikeouts to get the win.

Twins, Morneau Rout Cleveland 14-3

The Twins downed Cleveland 14-3 Monday night to extend the Indians losing streak to 10 games. Minnesota scored 10 runs in the 2nd inning. Justin Morneau was 3-5 with 2 homeruns and 4 RBIs, Ryan Doumit went 2-4 with a homerun and 3 RBIs, Joe Mauer was 3-5 with 3 RBIs and Josh Willingham hit his 29th homerun of the year.

Rox Down Bucks For 5th Straight Win

The St. Cloud Rox downed Waterloo 5-1 Monday night to win their 5th straight game. The Rox scored 2 runs in the 5th inning and added 2 more runs in the 6th inning. Chris Paul was 2-5 with a run scored and 1 RBI and Nick Rau was 2-2 with a run scored for St. Cloud. Lucas Long threw 8 innings with 5 hits and 1 earned run allowed to get the win. He struckout 7.

Peterson Hearing Moved To September

Viking running back Adrian Peterson had his pretrial hearing in Houston, Texas moved to September 27. Prosecutors have agreed to push back the court date for Peterson to face a misdemeanor resisting arrest charge. The pretrial hearing as originally scheduled for July 13 and then moved to Monday. Attorney Rusty Hardin says hearings will now be held September 27 and November 15.

Vikings’ Childs Has Surgery on Torn Patella Tendons

Viking receiver Greg Childs had surgery done on his torn patella tendons on both knees Monday. He torn the patella tendon in both knees at a scrimmage for the Vikings in Mankato Saturday night. Childs vows to recover from this injury but only one other player had the torn the patella tendon on both knees and he wasn't able to sustain a comeback in the NFL.

Waite Park 13AAA Baseball Team Wins 13U Babe Ruth Midwest Plains Regional Tournament

From August 1st through the 4th, 2012, in Gering, Nebraska the Waite Park 13AAA team won the 8 team 13U double elimination Babe Ruth Midwest Plains Regional Tournament. In the first game, Waite Park beat the Kansas state champs from Liberal 15-0, then they beat the North Dakota state champs from Grand Forks by a score of 11-9.

Rox Host Waterloo Tonight

The St. Cloud Rox host Waterloo Monday night to begin a 5-game series at Joe Faber Field at 7:05, pregame on AM 1390-the Fan at 6:35. Righthander Lucas Long will get the start for the Rox. St. Cloud is 16-13 while Waterloo is 14-14. The Rox are 2 1/2 games back of Willmar for first place in the 2nd half North Division standings.

Red Sox Beat Twins 6-4

The Twins lost 6-4 in Boston to the Red Sox Sunday afternoon. Minnesota was going for the sweep in the 4-game series and settles for winning 3 of 4. Nick Blackburn allowed 9 hits and 4 earned runs in 5 innings to take the loss for Minnesota. Franklin Morales allowed 3 hits and 1 earned run in 6 innings to get the win for Boston. Ryan Doumit hit a 2-run homerun and Josh Willingham hit a solo homerun for the Twins. Ben Revere was 1-3 with 1 RBI to extend his hitting streak to 19 games.
