COVID-19 Hospitalizations Up; ICU Numbers Down at St. Cloud Hospital
The latest Delta variant driven COVID-19 surge at St. Cloud Hospital continues this week. CentraCare Spokesman Dr. George Morris joined me on WJON this week. He says they have 60 COVID-19 patients within CentraCare with 50 of them at St. Cloud Hospital.
Apollo at Rocori HS Football on AM 1390/93.9 FM Tonight
Many high school football teams will be playing their 4th game of the season tonight and that includes Apollo playing at the new Blattner Stadium in Cold Spring against Rocori. This is the first varsity football game at this new multi-use stadium.
CentraCare Not Firing Employees For Not Getting a Vaccine
CentraCare enacted a mandatory COVID-19 vaccine in August. Dr. George Morris says "we are not firing anybody". He says they are not using the vaccine mandate as an opportunity to fire anybody for not getting a COVID-19 vaccine.
Minnesota Bear Harvest Numbers Down A Bit From Last Year
The Minnesota DNR released the latest bear harvest numbers. 2,300 Bears have been harvested in Minnesota with a few weeks remaining in the bear season. That number is down 13% from last year's harvest. Glen Schmitt from Outdoor News joined me on WJON today.

The St. Cloud State men's hockey team has been picked to win the Penrose Cup this season. The Penrose Cup is the National Collegiate Hockey Conference Championship which the Huskies have won 3 times but have never been picked to win in a preseason poll.

St. Cloud VA Offering Drive Thru and Walk-in Flu Shots
The St. Cloud VA is offering both drive thru and walk up flu vaccinations for veterans this fall. The drive thru flu shots will be held in the MAC parking lot September 28-30 from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Brainerd will be hosting drive thru flu shots September 22-23 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
