St. Cloud Man Taken to Hospital After Rollover

A St. Cloud man was taken to the hospital after a rollover on Saturday. Police say the incident happened just after 5:00 a.m. at the intersection of Cooper Avenue North and 3rd Street North. An SUV being driven by 22-year-old Keith Walker of St. Cloud was driving southbound in the 300 block of Cooper Avenue North when he lost control of the vehicle.

St. Cloud New York Gyro Expanding to Former McCann’s Building

A popular south St. Cloud gyro destination is expanding with a new location this summer. New York Gyro is opening a new spot in the former McCann's building at 3310 3rd Street North. Qamar Shahid is the owner of New York Gyro, he says they will be able to serve more customers with another location on the north side of town.

Three Arrested, One Tased on St. Cloud State University Campus

Three men were arrested on the campus of St. Cloud State University earlier this week. According to a St. Cloud State campus advisory sent to staff and students, the incident happened just after 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday in the G-Lot between Halenbeck Hall and the tennis courts.

New Superintendent Coming to Foley Public Schools

Foley Public Schools will have a new superintendent leading the way next school year. Paul Neubauer will be taking Darrin Strosahl's place as superintendent. Strosahl has served six years in the position and will be going to the St. Cloud Technical and Community College as a Dean of Students.

Improvements Coming to Popular St. Joseph Downtown Building

A popular building in downtown St. Joseph will see some updates in the near future. The old Loso building at 25 Minnesota Street West is home to the Minnesota Street Market, Closet to Closet and the Artisan Naan Bakery. A balcony will be added to the front of the building and will feature historical photographs. Other improvements include repainting the building facade, adding more lighting and reconstructing the roof overhang.

St. Joseph to Start Fundraising for Proposed $6.1 Million Aquatic Center

St. Joseph is starting initial fundraising for a proposed $6.1 Million aquatic center project. The city wants to see what kind of sponsorship and money could be available for the project. Mayor Rick Schultz says a portion of the project costs will need to be covered by fundraising. The proposed aquatic center includes a lazy river, lap pool, splash pool, zero depth entry pool, climbing wall and a zip line.

St. Joseph Looking to Possibly Update Government Center, Police Department

St. Joseph is looking to possibly update its city government building. The primary focus is on the Police Department, which operates from the building. A recent community task force study recommended the city update their government building to give the department more space.

St. Cloud State and Six Area Districts Working to Create Center For Partnership

St. Cloud State University and several area school districts are working together to create a collaborative center for partnership. The idea came from the Teacher Preparation Initiative, comprised of six partner school districts and St. Cloud State University. The program started in 2009 and has been funded through a ten-year $4.5 million grant by the Bush Foundation.

Sartell Chamber Honors Citizen, Senior Volunteer and Business of the Year [PHOTOS]

Over 100 Sartell business leaders and citizens came to honor the Sartell citizen, senior volunteer and business of the year last week. The citizen of the year was awarded to Joe Schulte, the retired volunteer of the year was given to Jim Wasdyke and Sartell Pediatrics was presented the business of the year award. The banquet also raised $2000 to go towards four scholarships.

Cold Spring Buying Road Signs to Control Highway 23 Noise

The Cold Spring city council approved buying two road signs to put on Highway 23 to remind motorists of the city noise ordinance. The city has heard complaints from residents in the nearby 3rd Street South neighborhood regarding vehicle noise from the Highway. Residents have also complained about noise from motorcycles and truck jake brakes.
