Dan DeBaun

I’ve lived in Minnesota my entire life. I was born and raised down near the cities in Eagan. I moved to St. Cloud in 2010 to start my college career at St. Cloud State University, and I’ve been happy to call this area my home ever since. I’m majoring in mass communications with an emphasis in radio broadcasting, and a minor in sociology. On campus, I was heavily involved with the college radio station KVSC, running music and news shows in my year and a half there. I was also a member of the training and programming departments during my time at KVSC. Earlier this year, I began an internship with Townsquare Media and eventually got hired on part time during the spring. This opportunity introduced me to the WJON newsroom when I was hired in July. I studied political science and international relations my first year at St. Cloud State, and I’ve always been very interested in news and current events. The opportunity to work for WJON is incredible and I’m very excited to be here. Outside of news I enjoy running outdoors, reading a good book, watching Twins baseball, and spending time with friends and family.
