Grove City Shed Fire Causes $250-$300K in Damages

A shed fire at a Grove City business caused $250,000-$300,000 in damages. Departments responded just after 1:00 p.m. in the 56100 block of U.S. Highway 12 for a fire at D and D Ventures. The Meeker County Sheriff's Office says the fire was in a wood shavings storage shed.

Manufacturing Jobs Growing in St. Cloud and Greater Minnesota

Minnesota manufacturers are hiring more and are paying higher wages, according to a new survey. The seventh annual State of Manufacturing survey was presented in St. Cloud on Tuesday. Enterprise Minnesota CEO Bob Kill says manufacturers in St. Cloud and greater Minnesota will likely continue to create more jobs.

85-Year-Old Veteran From Avon Able to Return Home From Nursing Facility Thanks to State Initiative

An 85-year-old veteran in Avon was recently able to return to his home from a nursing facility after having his leg amputated, thanks to a state initiative. Ernie Opatz is one of more than 2,200 Minnesotans who have left nursing homes thanks to the Return to Community initiative.

St. Cloud Man Charged For Allegedly Having Sex With 14-Year-Old

An 18-year-old St. Cloud man is charged with criminal sexual conduct after Hutchinson authorities became aware that he was allegedly having sexual contact with a 14-year-old girl in Hutchinson. Police say Steven Sherrard has been charged in McLeod County Court with felony 3rd-degree criminal sexual conduct.

Two Taken to Hospital After Crash on Division Street in St. Cloud

Two people were taken to the hospital after a three vehicle crash in St. Cloud on Wednesday. St. Cloud Police say the incident happened just before 4:45 p.m. in the 1800 block of Division Street West/Highway 23. An SUV driven by 52-year-old Allen Sexton of Rockville and a pickup truck driven by 58-year-old Gregory Duea of St. Cloud were both stopped in traffic in the eastbound lane.

Blattner Energy Expanding Avon Headquarters

Blattner Energy Inc. is investing $6.2 million to expand and renovate its headquarters in Avon. Blattner Energy is planning a two-story, 20,296 square-foot expansion. It's expected to create 12 new jobs at the site. The project includes adding 75 new offices and work stations.

Sauk Rapids Man Arrested After Chase, Had 15-Month-Old Daughter in Back Seat

A Sauk Rapids man was arrested after leading police on a chase with his 15-month-old daughter in the back seat. St. Cloud Police responded to a threats complaint just before 5:00 a.m. on Thursday in the 100 block of 20th Avenue North. A caller told police they were threatened by a man with a stick.

Downtown Tea Shop Thriving Under New Name and Ownership [VIDEO]

A downtown St. Cloud tea shop now has a new name and ownership. What used to be Willow Tea is now Spice of Life Tea at 820 West St. Germain Street. Terri Emmerich is the new owner and says she jumped at the opportunity to own the shop. Spice of Life offers numerous teas by the cup or in bulk, coffee, herbs and spices.

New Gyro-Mediterranean Restaurant Coming to St. Cloud

A new gyro-Mediterranean restaurant is opening in St. Cloud soon. Gyro Express will be in the strip center at 33rd Avenue North and 3rd Street. Amer Mian is the owner of Gyro Express and also Campus Kabob in town, he says they hope to open sometime next week.
