Assault Charges Filed in St. Cloud Hospital ER Attack

ST. CLOUD -- An Eden Prairie man is jailed on an assault charge after he allegedly attacked a physician's assistant at St. Cloud Hospital's ER Saturday.

Court documents show 53-year-old Jeffrey Lee was brought into the emergency room Saturday night because he was highly intoxicated.

Lee is accused of becoming combative and unruly with nurses. According to the criminal complaint, a physician's assistant tried to calm Lee down by offering him a glass of water when Lee lunged at him. The worker grabbed Lee's arm to avoid being assaulted. Lee broke free and clawed at the staffer's face leaving scratches, red marks and swelling.

Lee has a hearing scheduled for September 4th on one count of felony fourth degree assault on an emergency medical worker.
