Arthur Trout, 88, of Browerville, MN passed away on Saturday, August 9, 2014 at Lakewood Health System Hospital in Staples, MN surrounded by his family including his brothers and sisters. A Mass of Christian Burial for Arthur will be held on Wednesday, August 13, 2014 at 11:00AM at St. Michael’s Catholic Church in Motley, MN. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, August 12, 2014 at Brenny Funeral Chapel in Staples, MN from 5:00-8:00PM with a Prayer Service at 7:45PM at the funeral chapel and one hour prior to services at the church on Wednesday.

Art was born on December 27, 1925 in Fawn Lake Township to Edward and Amelia (Macho) Trout. He attended a one room school house through 8th grade and then graduated from Staples High School in 1944. Art married Lorraine Smith on June 21, 1949. They had just celebrated their 65th anniversary. Art’s passion was farming and he farmed all his life in Fawn Lake Township, raising crops and livestock. He was also a carpenter and built and remodeled many homes. Art drove milk truck, was a fire warden for 42 years, a township clerk, and worked for the ASC. He was a member of St. Michael’s Catholic Church in Motley, MN and a former member of St. James Catholic Church in Philbrook, MN and St. Isidore’s in Moran. Art enjoyed playing cards, computer games, going to the casino, word search books, puzzles, and dancing. He belonged to the same card club for 64 years. He also loved fishing, hunting, and spending time with his family. Art and Lorraine traveled to all 50 states, Australia, Europe, and many islands.

Art is survived by his loving wife, Lorraine; three children, Kathryn Pitcher, Joyce (Jerry) Brever, and Alan (RoAnn) Trout; siblings, Virginia Wilson, Geneva (Leon) Hoemberg, Richard (Marilyn) Trout, Harold (Joyce) Trout, Rosemarie (Lee) Kalisch, Eileen Poynter, Donald Trout, Leonard (Linda) Trout; sisters-in-law, Jean Mykland and Shannon Trout; eight grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Edward and Amelia; brothers, Clifford and Walter; sister, Francis; brothers-in-law, Ted Wilson and Ron Poynter; sister-in-law, Bonnie; and son-in-law, Marvin Pitcher. Arrangements have been entrusted to Brenny Funeral Chapel in Staples, MN.
