ROCKVILLE -- Games, food and more, Rockville is kicking off its summer Rockfest festival Saturday in downtown Rockville.

Rockfest volunteer organizer Kirstin Stanger says they will have plenty of activities for families.

"For the children we're going to have a fish pond, which is a catch and release fish pond. We'll also have games for the children, live music, a DJ during the day and tours."

Kids train rides and a petting zoo are also on deck for the event. Stanger says the highlight of Rockfest is Saturday night's parade. She says the town can get crowded during this time.

"When is get's closer to our grand parade however it's going to get a little bit more congested in town, parking is going to be limited and access is going to be a little more challenging. Because our parade runs right down Broadway [Street] in order for it to be safe we're going to have to close down the streets leading into the main part of the city."

Parking will be available on surrounding streets that aren't included in the parade route. The parade begins at 6:00 p.m. Saturday with a fireworks show to follow.
