Arnold “Arnie” Richard Sanborn, 88, of Princeton, passed away on Tuesday, September 29, 2015 at the St. Cloud VA Hospital.

Arnie was born on December 17, 1926 in Princeton, MN, the son of Ernest and Katherine (Eisenhut) Sanborn. He grew up on the family farm in Princeton where he attended country school and helped with dairy farming. In 1950 he entered into the United States Army and served during the Korean War. Following his honorable discharge, he met and was united in marriage to Bernadine Puntsack on November 22, 1953 in Swanville, MN. The couple resided in Princeton on a dairy farm. Arnie was a member of the American Legion, Knights of Columbus and Dairy Herd Improvement Association. Arnie drove school bus for the Princeton School District and loved getting to know the kids. He also loved to farm. In his spare time he enjoyed playing cards, particularly Wist and Cribbage, fishing, deer hunting trips with family, playing pranks and spending time with his family.

He is survived by his wife of nearly 62 years, Bernie; sons Ken and James (Deb); grandchildren, Jason (Amy) Sanborn of Blaine, Jamie (Shane) Sieben of Clearwater, Justine Sanborn of Brooklyn, NY, Elliot, Katie and Kelsey Sanborn of Janesville; great-grandchildren, Micah and Mariah Sieben and William Sanborn; sibling Ernie (Helen) and Arlene Sanborn; sister-in-law Caroline Sanborn; along with many nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; siblings, Ralph, LeRoy (Elsie) and Marvin (Shirley).

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, October 9, 2015 at Christ Our Light Catholic Parish, North Campus, in Princeton. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will be in St. Edward’s Catholic Cemetery in Princeton.

Arrangements are entrusted to Williams Dingmann Family Funeral Home in Princeton.
