MONTICELLO – A Monticello man and his one-year-old son suffered serious injuries in a crash with a vehicle driven by an armed robbery suspect.

The Minnesota State Patrol says the crash happened at about 5:40 p.m. today (Monday) on Broadway Street and Fanning Avenue in Wright County.

Big Lake Police were in pursuit of the vehicle driven by 47-year-old Kevin Greene of Monticello.  He’s suspected of robbing Tootsies Tavern in Big Lake Monday evening pointing a weapon at a woman who was working at the tavern’s pull-tab booth.

The Chevy Suburban he was driving was heading east in the westbound lane of Broadway Street when it struck the second vehicle broadside at the intersection with County Road 39 in Monticello.

The second vehicle was driven by 28-year-old Travis Kolles of Monticello.  His passenger was one-year-old Layton Kolles of Monticello.  Both were airlifted to North Memorial Medical Center in Robbinsdale where they are both listed in critical condition.

The suspect, Kevin Greene, suffered non life-threatening injuries.
