UNDATED - Area farm families who have worked their land for over 100 years are being recognized as "Century Farms".

The Minnesota State Fair and Minnesota Farm Bureau will honor 185 farms as "Century Farms" this year at the fair.  The list includes three from Benton County, three from Sherburne County, and four from Stearns County.

State Fair spokeswoman Brienna Schuette says they'll each receive a special honor, including: a commemorative sign, and a certificate signed by the Governor.

Qualifying farms have been in continuous family ownership for at least 100 years and are 50 acres or more.

Since the program began in 1976, over 9,000 Minnesota farms have been named "Century Farms".
