Area Farms Receive ‘Century Farm’ Designation

UNDATED - Seven farms in the tri-county area will be honored as Century Farms at the Minnesota State Fair.  The Fair and the Minnesota Farm Bureau will recognize a total of 144 farms statewide.

Qualifying farms have been in continuous family ownership for at least 100 years, and are 50 acres or more.  They receive a commemorative sign, as well as a certificate.  Since the program began in 1976, over 9,100 Minnesota farms have been given the Century Farm designation.

This year's local farms include:

The Benson farm and the Stauffenecker farm both from Foley.

The Warren and Mary Jo Johnson farm of Becker

The Beck farm in Clear Lake

The Bredeck farm and the Hagemeier farm both of Albany

And Koltes Dairy of St. Cloud
