Arboretum Goes Live With ‘Osprey Cam’

VICTORIA, (AP) - The Minnesota Landscape Arboretum has gone live with its new "Osprey Cam."

It's documenting the lives of an osprey couple nesting atop a pole on Horticultural Research Center land near Tamarack Lake in the Victoria area.

Arboretum officials believe there were two eggs in the nest as of Friday. They say the male is 21 years old and has been returning there since 2003. The female is new to the nest and is 3 years old. Ospreys typically lay one to three eggs.

Bird-lovers can track the fish-eating raptors' activity in real time on the Arboretum website, or streaming live on large monitors in at the Arboretum's visitor center.

The video feed Friday afternoon showed both birds coming, going and grooming, tending to the eggs as well as the nest.
