ST. PAUL, Minn. (AP) - Apple Valley police have not determined what caused a 29-year-old man to shoot his wife and young daughter and then turn the gun on himself.

But Captain John Bermel says there were no physical signs of a struggle in the home where aspiring filmmaker David Crowley was found dead along with his 28-year-old wife Komel and 5-year-old daughter Raniya.

The Hennepin County medical examiner's office has ruled each person died of a single gunshot wound to the head.

Bermel said investigators have not determined a motive, but did find the family had financial stress. He also mentioned substance abuse, but didn't elaborate.

The Dakota County Electronic Crimes Task Force is analyzing computers and electronic devices confiscated from the house.
