Former Apollo Eagles hockey player Nick Althaus was drafted by the United States Hockey League's Green Bay Gamblers in Phase II of their draft Tuesday morning. Althaus was selected in the seventh round (111th overall).

The United States Hockey League is the top junior hockey league in the United States, and does not pay players, allowing them the opportunity to play college hockey following their stint in the USHL.

The reigning Frank Brimsek Award winner, Althaus wrapped up his Apollo career this winter with a 74-28-2 record and a Minnesota State High School League record 24 shutouts.

After wrapping up his high school career, Althaus played for the NAHL's Bismarck Bobcats, where he posted a 2-2 record with a .900 save percentage.
