Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, January 25, 2016 at St. Mary’s Cathedral Upper Church for Anthony “Tony” Gaetz, age 85, of Waite Park, who passed away on Thursday, January 21, 2016 at Quiet Oaks Hospice House in St. Augusta. Reverend Scott Pogatchnik will officiate. Burial will take place in Assumption Cemetery with full military honors.
Family and friends may call from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Sunday and after 9:00 a. m. on Monday at the Daniel Funeral Home in St. Cloud.

Tony was born on August 19, 1930 in St. Cloud, Minnesota to Jack and Irene (Estes) Gaetz. He married Lorraine M. Zins on November 1, 1952 in Sill, Oklahoma. Tony served honorably in the United States Army during the Korean War. He lived in the St. Cloud area all of his life. He and his wife established Anton’s Supper Club, in Waite Park in the early 70’s. Tony was a member of the Waite Park American Legion Silver Star Post #428, the St. Cloud VFW Granite Post #428, the Elks, the Moose Lodge #1400, the Eagles Aerie #622, the Knights of Columbus Council 961, and St. Mary’s Cathedral.

Tony enjoyed time spent in Florida, boating and entertaining. He was a fun loving, big-hearted man who touched the lives of many. He will be missed by all who met him.

Tony is survived by his children, David (Patty) of Waite Park, Daniel (Abby) of Santa Barbara, California, Nancy (Darwin Howe) of St. Cloud, Toni of St. Cloud and Elizabeth “Betzy” of Sauk Rapids; seven grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; one great great-grandchild; companion, Martha Bridge of Beaverton, OR; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Lorraine in 2001; and infant son Jack in 1956; sister and brothers, Ione Kuchenbecker, Chuck, and Phillip.
