Mass of Christian Burial celebrating the life of Anthony J. “Tony” Lahr, age 75, of Luxemburg will be at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 23, 2014 at St. Wendelin’s Catholic Church in Luxemburg. Tony passed away with family by his side on Wednesday, August 20, 2014 at the St. Cloud Hospital from complications of a recent Leukemia diagnosis. Reverend Ronald Weyrens will officiate. Burial will be in St. Joseph’s Parish Cemetery, St. Joseph.

Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Friday and after 9:00 a.m. on Saturday both at Mary Hall in Luxemburg. Parish prayers will be at 4:00 p.m. on Friday at Mary Hall. Arrangements are with Daniel Funeral Home, St. Cloud.

Tony was born on August 24, 1938 in St. Cloud to the late Henry and Melda (Torker) Lahr. He married Faye Cunningham in 1967 and she passed away in 1969. He married Beatrice (Lommel) Schabel on July 9, 1971 at St. Wendelin’s Catholic Church in Luxemburg. He lived in Luxemburg all of his married life and was employed as a Machinist for Ickler Company in St. Cloud, retiring in 2000. He was a member of St. Wendelin’s Parish where he served as Eucharistic Minister. He also volunteered his time plowing snow for the parish.

Tony enjoyed biking, spending time at the lake cabin with family, fishing, playing accordion, designing and building almost anything and living each day to the fullest.

He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Bea of Luxemburg; children, Sandy (Peter) Weber of St. Cloud, Cindy (Ted) Hintze of Coon Rapids, Susan Lahr of Elk River, Curtis (Kristen) of St. Cloud; five grandchildren, Zachary, Nicholas, Joshua and Garrett Weber and Ellie Hintze; and brother, Pat Lahr of Maple Lake.

He was preceded in death by his sister, Mary Ann Lehnen; and brother, Edwin Lahr.

A heartfelt thank you to all of the St. Cloud Hospital and Hospice doctors and nurses, Family Dentist, our family and friends for their compassion and kindness during the past two weeks.
