ANOKA, Minn. (AP) - Anoka County authorities have charged a woman and her boyfriend in the suspected abuse of her 3-year-old son.

Forty-year-old Elizabeth Ann Moorman of Anoka was charged Friday with felony neglect of a child. Prosecutors say Moorman brought her son to a Coon Rapids hospital on Tuesday. An examination found the boy had suffered a cerebral hemorrhage, two collapsed lungs and retinal hemorrhaging.

According to the complaint, hospital staff told a sheriff's detective that Moorman was offering various stories on how her son was injured. Moorman's boyfriend, 24-year-old Anthony William Urban, is charged with first-degree assault in the case.

The boy was airlifted to HCMC. According to the Star Tribune the sheriff's office said he was on life support Thursday. Moorman and Urban remained in jail Friday.
