ST. CLOUD -- The Norman C. Skalicky Foundation and the Central Minnesota Community Foundation raised $418,000 in the 2014 Charity Challenge.

In its 14th year, the Charity Challenge continued to raise money for local charities like the Salvation Army, Catholic Charities, and St. Joseph food shelves.

"Every year, we are humbled by the generosity of this community," says Norman Skalicky, whose foundation gave a $100,000 matching donation to the cause. "But this year blew us away."

The Charity Challenge is experiencing record-setting support as the $418,000 raised this past year is a 59 percent increase from 2013, and more than double the amount of 2012.

Since it started, the annual Charity Challenge has raised close to more than $2,000,000 in total for community charities.
