Andrew J. Rothstein, 88, Cold Spring

April 8, 1927 – March 17, 2016

Mass of Christian Burial will be 3:00 p.m., Monday, March 21, 2016 at St. Boniface Catholic Church in Cold Spring, MN for Andrew J. Rothstein, age 88, who passed away peacefully on Thursday, March 17, 2016 at the Assumption Home in Cold Spring. Burial will be in the St. Boniface Parish Cemetery.

Relatives and friends may call from 4:00 – 8:00 p.m., Sunday, March 20, 2016 at the St. Boniface Catholic Church Narthex. Visitation will continue Monday at 1:00 p.m. – 3:00 p.m. Catholic United Financial will pray a rosary at 4:00 p.m. Parish prayers will be at 7:30 p.m.
Andrew was born in Richmond, MN to Jacob and Lucy (Weisman) Rothstein. He married Martha (Buermann) on May 6, 1953 in Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Church in Richmond. Andrew served in the Army from 1950 to 1952. He worked at the Cold Spring Granite Company in various capacities from 1949 to 1990. Andrew enjoyed fishing, hunting, gardening, woodworking and playing cards. He was a fan of the Minnesota Twins. Andrew loved spending time with his family and volunteering for numerous parish organizations.

Survivors include his wife, Martha; children, Michael (Janice), Marlene (Jim) Graham, Kenneth, Marvin (Lois), Kathleen (Mark) Silvers, Myron (Julie), Marcy (Dan) Schleper, Matthew (Deborah), and Keith (Joe Angaran); brothers, Sylvester, Martin, and Ansgar; sister, Clara Heinze; 16 grandchildren; and 6 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Roman, Bill, Marcus, Ambrose, Christ, Ben, Mathias, and Victor; sisters, Martha Torborg, Louise Gohmann, and Rosemary Fischer; and great-granddaughter, Natalie.
