Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday, November 28, 2015 at St. Marcus Catholic Church in Clear Lake for Andrew “Andy” Kraemer, age 83, who passed away Tuesday at his home in the comfort of his family and friends from complications of Parkinson’s disease. Rev. Virgil Helmin will officiate and burial will be in the parish cemetery. Visitation will be from 9:00-11:00 a.m. Saturday at the church in Clear Lake. Arrangements have been entrusted to Williams Dingmann Family Funeral Home, Clear Lake.

Andy was born on May 18, 1932 in St. Cloud to parents Eldred and Carolyn (Netz) Kraemer. Andy married Constance Larson of Palmer, MN on February 5, 1955 at St. Marcus Catholic Church in Clear Lake. Andy served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean Conflict and was honorably discharged in December of 1954. Andy was a longtime member of St. Marcus Catholic Church and American Legion Post #354.

Andy was the true spirit of an entrepreneur and successfully started a number of different businesses throughout his life. His most cherished was a company he co-founded with a longtime friend and partner Ed Eagan. The two of them started Allstate Paving, Inc. in 1972 and together they grew it into a national concrete paving, grinding and pavement preservation company. Andy’s second cherished business was farming. In 1973, Andy bought and moved his family onto the family farm that he grew up on. Together with his family he farmed there until his retirement. Andy always enjoyed helping others get started in business and played a key role in getting Diamond Surface Inc. successfully started. He also enjoyed horses, hunting, fishing, and living life to its fullest. Andy enjoyed being with his grandchildren and great grandchildren he especially enjoyed teaching them the fine art of shaking dice and playing cards.

Andy is survived by his wife, Connie Kraemer of St. Cloud; daughter, Kim (Steve) Hemish of St. Cloud; son, Terry Kraemer (Sandy Schneider) of Dayton; grandchildren, Blake (Margot) Kraemer of Stillwater, Kenzie (Ronald) Moreno of Atlanta, GA, Paige Kraemer of Los Angeles, CA, Andrew Hemish of Sartell, Kaitlin Hemish of St. Cloud, Allie Hemish of St. Cloud; great grandchildren, Lilah and Caroline Kraemer of Stillwater; sister, Shirley Winkelman of St. Cloud; and brother, Jerry Kraemer of Laporte. Andy was preceded in death by his son, Andy Jr.; his parents; sisters, Winifred Perske and Maxine Jones; and brothers, Eldred Jr. and Richard.

The family of Andy Kraemer would like to give a special Thank You to Donna Hemmelgarn, Judy Spencer, Merlin Mechtel and Michael McDonald for all the love, care and help they provided. We would also like to extend our deepest gratitude and thanks to the care provided by Arise Home Health Care especially Karen and Paula. Much appreciation as well to the wonderful people at CentraCare Health Hospice and the Foley Nursing Center.
