DULUTH, Minn. (AP) - Musher Ryan Anderson pulled across the Beargrease Marathon finish line just minutes ahead of his friend and three-time champion Nathan Schroeder to win the 2015 dog sled race.

Anderson arrived in Duluth at 2:53 a.m. Wednesday, 28 minutes ahead of Schroeder. Anderson won the race in 2011 by beating Schroeder by just 20 seconds.

Reports say that even when the 315-mile race in northern Minnesota came to an end, Anderson said he felt like he wanted to turn around and do it all over again.

But, he says his first priority was praising his dog team.

Established in 1980, the John Beargrease Sled Dog Marathon is billed as the longest sled dog race in the lower 48 states.
