ST. PAUL  (AP) - The Minnesota Department of Transportation says it would cost the state at least $175 million and possibly more to fix highways and roads around a proposed site for a Vikings stadium in Ramsey County.

The agency says that would rise to $240 million if the project includes other amenities like restaurants, hotels and entertainment destinations. That's most of the proposed $300 million cap on the state share for stadium construction that Gov. Mark Dayton says he won't exceed.

It's a new obstacle for the Arden Hills site that Vikings and Ramsey County officials have discussed for months. Dayton says he talked with the team's owners about the estimates Tuesday morning and they plan an announcement later in the day.

A team spokesman did not immediately return a call seeking comment.
