BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) - Amtrak says a backlog of freight caused by flooding along rail lines in Montana and North Dakota is disrupting passenger rail service from Minnesota to the Pacific Northwest.

An Amtrak spokesman says the railroad's Empire Builder line between St. Paul, Minn., and Spokane, Wash., will remain closed though Tuesday.

Flood-affected portions of the line in North Dakota and Montana reportedly reopened to freight traffic late last week.
