ST. PAUL (AP) - Even as Gov. Mark Dayton pushes priorities and copes with setbacks in the legislative session, his reelection bid is looming fast.

Dayton says he's definitely running for reelection. That would be a first in his long political career. The Democratic governor has never sought a second term after two previous stints in political office.

The legislative session hasn't gone entirely smoothly for him so far. He backed off an ambitious sales tax overhaul over lack of support from fellow Democrats. And the Vikings stadium project he backed has problems with the revenue to pay the state's share.

No Republicans have launched a campaign against Dayton yet. But several are considering it and could announce plans soon after session ends.
