UNDATED - A lot of the foods we all love are loaded with salt, including some surprising ones like breads and fresh poultry.  That's according to a new report from the Centers for Disease Control.

Diane Giambruno is a Registered Dietician at the CentraCare Heart and Vascular Center.  She says cutting down on your salt intake should be a priority for you, and you can start by reading the labels at the grocery store.

Giambruno says practically all packaged foods are loaded with sodium.  You're better off buying fresh foods.  Also eliminate adding extra salt at the table.

Americans consume about 3,300 miligrams of salt every day, about 1,000 miligrams more than we should have.
