American Idol’s Kris Allen Drops By Townsquare Media Studios [AUDIO]

ST. CLOUD - Former American Idol winner Kris Allen was in St. Cloud today (Wednesday). He dropped by the WJON studio to promote his concert tonight in Minneapolis.

Allen says he's proud of his connection to the popular Television show, but he always wants to gain his own identity.

Allen won the 8th season of American Idol on Fox in May of 2009. He says he hasn't watched a lot of the show this season, but he did last year. Allen says he and his wife are expecting a baby in July, so they're doing a lot of touring before then.

He released his second major album in May of last year.

Allen is performing tonight at the Cedar Cultural Center in Minneapolis.
