MINNEAPOLIS (AP) - The "American Idol" tour won't be coming to Minneapolis this summer.

This year's "Idol" winner, R&B vocalist Candice Glover, and the rest of the show's Season 12 finalists canceled 10 of 40 dates on their summer tour, including a July 2 concert at Target Center in Minneapolis.

Slow ticket sales apparently were to blame after a continuing decline in ratings for the Fox TV singing contest.

Last summer's tour drew only about 6,000 fans to Target Center. That's less than half the size of the crowds the concert pulled during its early years when Kelly Clarkson, Carrie Underwood and Clay Aiken emerged as marquee performers.

Concerts also were canceled in Chicago, Detroit, St. Louis, Kansas City, Las Vegas, Tulsa and Oakland.
