ST. CLOUD - After spending months in the hospital, Alyssa Lommel has returned to her family's home in St. Cloud to continue her recovery.

Lommel returned home on Monday, according to a post by her mother Teri Lommel on the family's CaringBridge website.

"We were both exhausted, but happy to be in our own home," Teri Lommel posted.

Doctors will continue to visit and work with Lommel as she continues her recovery.

The 19-year-old St. Cloud native suffered severe frostbite and hypothermia in early December after being dropped off at her home in Duluth following a night of drinking, and she fell asleep on the front porch.

Lommel was found roughly nine hours later, still outside after enduring sub-zero temperatures overnight.
