Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:00 a.m. Friday, March 11, 2016 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Sauk Rapids for Alvina Jackels, age 90, of Sauk Rapids, who passed away peacefully on Sunday at Talahi Care Center surrounded by family. Rev. Ralph Zimmerman will officiate and burial will be in the parish cemetery. Visitation will be 4:00 – 8:00 p.m. Thursday, March 10, 2016 at Williams Dingmann Family Funeral Home in Sauk Rapids and one hour prior to services at the church on Friday. Parish prayers will be at 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home on Thursday.

Alvina (Obremski) Jackels was born March 21, 1925 in Gilman to Frank and Agnes (Midas) Obremski. She married Leo Jackels on June 7, 1943 at St. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Gilman. She was a member at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Sauk Rapids and Secular Franciscan Order. Alvina was a Cook at Naldo’s Modern Bar in St. Cloud from 1958- 1968. She then worked at Appert’s from 1968 until retirement in 1995. She enjoyed all the duties connected to being a homemaker, especially, gardening, cooking, crocheting and embroidery.

Alvina is survived by her daughters and son, Gloria Kloskin of St. Cloud, Arthur (Jan) of St. Cloud, Margi (Joe) Knettel of St. Stephen, Ruth Goulet of St. Cloud, Patricia (Paul) Spiczka of Sauk Rapids, Susan (Duane) Graczyk of St. Cloud; sister, Angie (Palmer) Kingma of Downey,CA; 25 grandchildren; 62 great grandchildren and 7 great great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Leo in 2011; son, David in 2003; infant daughter, Mary; son in law, Robert Kloskin; daughter in law, Angela Jackels; granddaughters, Margarite Cutting and Rebecca Sundstrum; siblings, Helen Sikorski, Walter Obremski; and two infant grandsons.

Our family wishes to express their heartfelt appreciation and gratitude to the Talahi staff and St. Croix Hospice for their considerate care. Alvina had many friends at Talahi, staff and residents.
