Alvin V. Hennen, 92, St. Cloud

November 15, 1922 - May 7, 2015

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, May 12, 2015 at St. Peter’s Catholic Church in St. Cloud for Alvin V. Hennen, age 92 of St. Cloud who passed away on Thursday, May 7, 2015. Reverend Gregory Lieser will officiate. Entombment will take place in Assumption Cemetery in St. Cloud.
Family and friends may call from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Monday at the Daniel Funeral Home in St. Cloud and after 9:30 a.m. on Tuesday at the church. A prayer service will be held at 6:30 p.m. on Monday at the Funeral Home.

Al was born November 25, 1922 in Watkins, Minnesota to Math and Pauline (Geis) Hennen. He married Dolores A. Schloesser on October 24, 1944 at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church in Watkins. Alvin farmed for 16 years, worked as a salesman for Purity Dairy for 23 years and later 12 years as a part-time carpet salesman. He was a member of St. Peter’s Catholic Church where he was an Usher.

Al enjoyed playing cards, yardwork, socializing, and was a huge Twins and Vikings Fan. He especially loved all the time spent with his family.

Al is survived by his children, Gary (Jo) of Cold Spring, Denny (Jan) of St. Cloud, Alan “Scoot” (Patti) of St. Cloud, Linda (“T-Bone”) Williams of St. Cloud; 17 grandchildren; 32 great grandchildren; four great great grandchildren; brother, LaVerne (Eileen); and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Dolores in 2009; brothers, Albert, Ben, Herb, Elmer, Irwin, Cyrill; sisters, Caroline Dockendorf, Lillian Garding, Geraldine Hommerding, Theresa Loesch, Lorraine Lutgen; daughter-in-law Norma Hennen; and an infant grandson.
