ST. CLOUD - Allegiant Airlines has announced they will temporarily suspend air service from the St. Cloud Regional Airport later this year.

Spokeswoman Jessica Wheeler says the last flight out of St. Cloud to Mesa, Arizona will leave August 14th, and they'll resume flights on October 9th.  She says it's not uncommon for the airline to ramp down in September, because it's not a huge travel time with kids going back to school. She says it's a practice they've also done in other markets as well.

Allegiant offers two flights per week to-and-from Pheonix-Mesa Gateway Airport on Thursdays and Sundays.

Since the service began on December 15th, they've had near capacity flights.
