ST. CLOUD - Allegiant Airlines is coming to St. Cloud.  While the airline is new to us, they're not new to the upper midwest.

Allegiant is already offering regular flights out of Duluth, Sioux Falls, Fargo, and Grand Forks. Sioux Falls, Duluth, and Grand Forks residents can fly to Las Vegas, Orlando, and Mesa.  And Fargo's airport offers those three cities, as well as a flight to Los Angeles.

Allegiant just announced last week they are adding flight from Rochester.  Regular service from there starts November 1st.

The Las Vegas-based company was founded in 1997 and focuses on linking travelers in small cities to world class destinations.  It exited from bankruptcy in 2002, and was ranked 9th on the Forbes list of Best Small Companies.

They offer 181 routes from 79 U.S. cities.

The first flight will leave on Saturday, December 15th at a cost of $89.99 one way.  Other flights are scheduled for Thursdays and Mondays at a cost of $135.99 one way.  After the holidays, prices drop back down to $89.99 one way.  Checked bags will cost you up to $35, and carry-ons will cost an additional $25.
