Alice E. Harrington, 73, Long Prairie

July 23, 1941 - December 28, 2014

Funeral Services will be at 11 am, Wednesday, December 31, 2014 at Trinity Lutheran Church, Long Prairie, for Alice E. Harrington, age 73, of Long Prairie who passed away on Sunday at the St. Cloud Hospital. Rev. Noah Wehrspann will officiate and burial will be in the Lakeview Cemetery, Grey Eagle. Family and friends may call one hour prior to the services at the church on Wednesday. Arrangements entrusted to Williams Dingmann Family Funeral Home – Stein Chapel, Long Prairie.

Alice Ellen Getz was born July 23, 1941 in Stewart, Minnesota, the daughter of Daniel and Hattie (Rasmussen) Getz. In 1949, the family moved to Swanville, Minnesota. She attended school and graduated from Swanville High School in 1959. She married James Harrington on June 5, 1971 at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church in Swanville. She moved to the farm in Long Prairie Township. She and James enjoyed traveling and spent the past two winters near Bull Head City, Arizona.

Alice was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church. She enjoyed traveling, flower gardening, and decorating her home. Most of all, she enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren.
Alice is survived by her husband, James; daughters, Jennifer (David) Becker, Long Prairie, and Jessica (Jeff) Corle, Alexandria; siblings, Betty Runke, Hutchinson, MN; Delores (Richard) Dahlquist, Randall; JoAnn Grissom, Dallas, TX; Gene Getz, Pelican Rapids; and Jerry (Claris) Getz, Nelson, MN; also five grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers Donald and Roger, and sisters Elaine Strom and Shirley Beers.
